Cyberpunk is still the game that decides how much GPU you actually need. The measured numbers below are for the card alone; the builds under them are what the engine recommends around it.

  • 1440pGigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Eagle OC 8G is the cheapest card measured over 60 fps — 61 fps at high.

Why this is demanding

Ray tracing is the whole story. With it off, a mid-range card holds 1440p comfortably; with path tracing on, the same card falls off a cliff and no CPU upgrade brings it back. VRAM matters more than raw shader count at 1440p and above — 8 GB cards start swapping textures where 12 GB cards do not. The CPU only becomes the limiter below 1440p, where frame rates climb past what the game's crowd simulation can feed.

Questions

Is 8 GB of VRAM enough?
At 1080p, yes. At 1440p with ray tracing you will see texture pop-in and frame-time spikes that a 12 GB card does not have. The measured averages hide this — averages do not show a stutter.
Does a faster CPU help here?
Only below 1440p. Above it the GPU is saturated long before the CPU is, which is why the 4K tier on this page spends the extra money on the card and not on the processor.
Are these numbers from your builds?
No. They are per-card measurements from the source cited under the table. We show them because they are the honest input to the recommendation, not because they describe the machine you would receive.
