MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi

Overview

The default recommendation for a mid-range AM5 build: a 14+2+1 VRM that handles a Ryzen 9 without throttling, WiFi, and four DDR5 slots to 192GB. The graphics slot is Gen4, fine for any current GPU. Two M.2 is the only real limit; otherwise it is the safe, boring, correct choice most builds should make.

Wish it had a third M.2

Only two M.2 sockets is my one complaint for a board at this tier. Otherwise the VRM, WiFi and layout are all excellent.

    Great BIOS and stable EXPO

6000 CL30 posted instantly. MSI BIOS is easy to navigate. This is the board I recommend to every friend building on AM5.

    Reliable workhorse

Nothing flashy, just works. Paired with a 7700X and it runs cool. Good value for a Ryzen 9 capable board.

The default AM5 recommendation for a reason

14+2+1 VRM handles my 9900X without a sweat. Two M.2 slots, WiFi, 2.5GbE, everything a mainstream build needs and nothing wasted.
