For a 40-series card I used the adapter. Would have liked a native cable, but the platform is rock solid and quiet. Powers my 7800X3D and 4080 easily.

105C Japanese caps and a genuinely silent 135mm fan under normal load. Cables are a bit stiff but manageable. Great unit.
